Testimonials

There are some very happy people out there - Ruth has touched their lives in a positive way, and they wanna talk about it!

Amelia: In 1971 at the age of 11, I sat the grade 2 piano exam. I scraped through with a "pass" mark. After that I lost interest and gave up piano. It is now more than 50 years later and with renewed courage I resat both my grade 1 and grade 2 piano exams and gained "distinctions". Ruth is the reason I achieved this. She is a teacher, dedicated to understanding what each individual student wants to achieve and helping them to achieve it. Ruth does this by getting in synch with the aspirations of her student and supporting them to deliver with a mix of humour, encouragement and supreme musicality. What a shame she was not my teacher in 1971.

Rebecca and Jean: For over 10 years, Ruth has been bringing her joyful approach to piano to my mum. Over the past 5 years, my mum has been living with Alzheimers - many of her former abilities are gone, but incredibly she is still playing the piano! I am sure this is mostly due to Ruth’s wonderful encouragement and patience, as well as her ability to work with mum to enable her to retain and enjoy her playing. I know mum loves her sessions with Ruth - who brings a warmth and positivity with her every week.

Nina: Learning with Ruth is a very special and life changing experience. Ruth helped me understand chords in a way that inspired me to write songs and most importantly love music.

Jess: Ruth is a truly gifted musician and piano teacher in London, and one of the most inspirational people I've met.

James: Choosing Ruth to be your piano teacher is one of the smartest moves you can make; I know it was for me.

Ian: There's a beautiful informality and lack of pretension about her teaching.  I would heartily recommend Ruth to anyone.

Debby: Ruth makes learning music a most joyful experience and once hooked, she will take you on the musical ride of your life!

Hannah: 20 years later I still sit down at the piano and nostalgically play those tunes.

Ingrid: If Ruth has a teaching slot available - grab it!

Zak Abel: @Zakabel: Ruth taught me how to play chords. Basically provided the foundation of me learning how to play songs and then ultimately write them. She’s a great teacher and human being.

Oli: I came to Ruth as a child who couldn't play piano, and she taught me all the way up to grade 8 standard - more importantly, lessons were always fun and engaging, and she helped kindle my love of music!

Zoe: I really look forward to my lessons with Ruth every week. I now sing and play piano all the time and it makes me so happy.
